Super-Easy Cheesy Italian Meatballs

by Amee Leave a Comment

Cheesy Italian MeatballsThis is an easy recipe for slow cooker cheesy Italian meatballs. My kids love meatballs in any form, and they love this recipe too. I make my meatballs by hand (Homemade Turkey Meatballs). I have made this recipe previously with frozen meatballs as described below, but it also works for homemade meatballs. If you use freshly-cooked, handmade meatballs, then the cooking time for the recipe below will only be about 3-4 hours in the Crock-Pot®.

Ingredients

  • 2 – 14 ounce packages of fully-cooked frozen meatballs. I like the Italian-style meatballs (the pre-packaged are NOT gluten free, but if you use my Homemade Turkey Meatballs then the recipe will be gluten free.)
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 – 45 ounce jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Cover the bottom of the Crock-Pot® with the frozen meatballs.
  • Cover meatballs with spaghetti sauce.
  • Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the sauce and meatballs.
  • Repeat with additional layers until all meatballs and cheese are used.
  • Cook on low for about 5 hours until meatballs are hot and cheese is melted.
  • Serve and enjoy!
